Tyler Rains is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional who has extensive experience developing and implementing health and safety management systems, conducting workplace investigations, inspections, and delivering consulting services across a broad spectrum of industries.
Before he founded Good Sense Group in 2009, Tyler worked as a journeyman scaffolder and carpenter. This gives him a unique understanding of the construction industry and an in-depth knowledge of how things actually work on a job site. Tyler enjoys exploring the world and playing golf in his leisure time.
Gord Stewart is a Vancouver, Canada-based construction executive with diverse experience and a proven track record. He has held management, leadership, and governance roles. He is currently providing business and governance consulting services to a number of construction companies and industry associations across Canada.
Gord has a BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario, a Graduate Certificate in Project Management from Royal Roads University, and is a Graduate of the Directors Education Program from the Institute of Corporate Directors. His professional experience includes a senior leadership role with one of Canada’s leading construction business associations, as founding President of one of British Columbia’s largest group benefits providers, and as a Director of Corporate Development with a major Western Canadian construction company. He has served as a Director on a number of public and private sector Boards including The BC Health Professions Review Board, The Industry Training Authority, The Insurance Council of BC, The Vancouver Economic Development Commission and The JB Horizons Limited Partnership.
With over 27 years of experience as a senior HR professional, Lisa brings a wealth of expertise and insight to her role. Throughout her career, she has worked across various industries, leveraging her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a post-diploma in HR to drive organizational success.
Lisa is recognized as a Certified HR Leader (CHRL) and a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), demonstrating her commitment to excellence in the field. Additionally, she is a lifelong learner who holds specialized certificates in Labour Relations, Change Management (Prosci), Leadership and Inclusion, and Mediation, and is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt practitioner.
Since September 2022, Lisa has been an integral part of the team at Good Sense Workplace Solutions, where she partners with clients to strategically achieve their business objectives. Prior to this, she served as the Director of HR at a Children’s Mental Health Agency, where she made significant contributions to organizational growth and development.
Lisa has held leadership roles in a variety of industries and is passionate about coaching and mentoring employees and teams to enhance their effectiveness and collaboration. Her dedication to facilitating workplace restoration and empowering individuals to reach their full potential has made her a respected leader in the HR field.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Lisa is deeply involved in giving back to her community. She has volunteered on numerous boards and charities, demonstrating her commitment to making a positive impact. Her board experience has given her substantial expertise in governance and strategic planning.
With over 22 years of safety experience, Ken brings a diverse background from the Oil and Gas Industry, including Surveying, Lease Construction, Drilling, Completions, Pipelines, and reclamation. His involvement in construction, including foundation piling and road building for the past 5 years, showcases his adaptability and broad skill set.
Ken has extensive experience implementing health and safety management systems for front-line workers all the way to senior management. Other experience includes incident investigations, workplace inspections, and developing safety management systems.
Before getting into the safety business, Ken started out as a carpenter with knowledge of most of the other sub-trades, such as welding, electrical, and plumbing.
As Ken gained experience with safety, he also worked in Emergency Services for 18 years as a volunteer firefighter, working his way through the ranks as a training officer and captain before retiring as an Assistant Chief.
